Meet the Residents of the Equine Advocates Sanctuary

Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, currently the home of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules—plus two pygmy goats, has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. If you would like to help the horses living at Equine Advocates Sanctuary, please visit Sponsor a Horse.

Abby, a Belgian Draft, is the offspring of a PMU mare who was pregnant when Equine Advocates rescued her at a Winnipeg, Canada slaughter auction along with 11 other mares in 2000.

Abby is best known around here for all the funny faces she makes as you can see in the above photo! She spends her day with other former PMU mares and the offspring of PMU mares. We call this field "The Big and the Beautiful" and they sure are!

Abby is proudly co-sponsored by supporters from Huntsville, Alabama and Houston, Texas.
