Meet the Residents of the Equine Advocates Sanctuary

Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary, currently the home of rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules—plus two pygmy goats, has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. If you would like to help the horses living at Equine Advocates Sanctuary, please visit Sponsor a Horse.

Previous Equine   Next Equine

Abby, a Belgian Draft, is the offspring of PMU mare, Betsy, who Equine Advocates rescued at a Winnipeg, Canada slaughter auction along with 11 other horses in 2000. Betsy was in foal with Abby at the time of her rescue. Abby spends her day with seven other former PMU mares or the offspring of rescued PMU mares: Angie, Annie, Bebe, Chloe, Sarah, Sophia & Willow. We call this field "The Big and the Beautiful" and they sure are!.
